TEETH WHITENING - HOMECARE INSTRUCTIONS
You’re just had your teeth whitened - Now what?
SENSITIVITY
- Some sensitivity is normal for a few days following treatment. You may want to use a sensitive toothpaste like Sensodyne, while it subsides.
- Feel free to take a pain reliever like Advil or Tylenol if needed.
- Avoid consuming extreme temperatures like hot beverages and ice cream.
- Some soft tissue irritation may occur on gums or lips. Use Vaseline on your gums for a few days and it will disappear.
WHAT TO AVOID THE FIRST 48 HOURS
Dark staining substances such as:
- Coffee/Tea
- Soy Sauce
- Red Wine
- Berries
- Tobacco
- Red Sauces
- Cola
WAYS TO MAINTAIN YOUR NEW WHITE SMILE
- Avoid stain related habits when possible.
- If you must indulge, rinse your mouth immediately afterwards.
- Practice good oral hygiene including thorough tooth brushing, flossing to remove debris and tongue cleaning.
- Seek regular, professional dental care to maintain oral health and keep staining to a minimum. We will also be able to determine when whitening touch ups are needed.
