THREAD LIFT

A thread lift is a non-surgical, minimally invasive facelift procedure that uses special suture threads to “lift up” sagging skin on the neck and face, arms and other areas. The procedure is less time-consuming than a traditional facelift, and there is virtually little recovery or downtime. The end result is a more refreshed, relaxed, natural and youthful appearance.

The procedure

In general, thread lift procedures are an in-office procedure taking about 60 – 90 minutes. The patient will be given a local anesthetic and will likely not feel any discomfort or pain. Patient comfort is a paramount concern for us, so we do everything possible to ensure that patients are well taken care of.

Dr. Koski will then determine the best sites to insert the “thread” in order to achieve the desired final result. Next, he will begin the process of inserting the threads. The specifics of this will depend on the desired final result and the Thread Lift product employed.

This process is repeated several times in the targeted area, in order to create the desired shape and lift, again varying due to the Thread Lift product employed. In general, the entire process takes less than 30 minutes, allowing patients to resume their normal activities in short order.

Recovery and results

Patients who undergo this procedure are usually able to resume normal activities quite quickly. There may be some bruising or swelling after the procedure, but this should subside within 1-5 days.

A. The thread lift procedure is done in-office by Dr. Koski. He will start by marking the treatment areas on the patient. A needle will then gently be inserted and the threads placed into the subcutaneous tissue, lifting the skin. Because the sutures have bi-directional absorbable cones, and the threads have tiny barbs that grab the tissue the threads are easily held into place. Treatments commonly take about 45 minutes.

A. The threads stimulate collagen production, and are replaced by a thin rope of collagen, providing ongoing lifting and long-lasting results.
